Oprah's Legends Ball

Last night I watched Oprah's Legends Ball and was blown away!! It was sooo amazing! I got it...I finally got it! I finally go what Oprah was doing...and yes, I too am so appreciative...

Originally I thought it was just going to be a show case of famous people at an awards dinner; being that it was Oprah, I should have known better...it was so much more...

When Dr. Shirley Caesar and the others began singing at the end, the Holy Ghost caught a hold of me and I lost my mind!! I NEVER felt anything like that--and yes, the Holy Ghost has caught me many times in my life, but the magnitude felt last night was thee most powerful experience of God's precious anointing falling upon me that I've ever experienced.

One of the most memorable moments was the reading of We Speak Your Names, a poem by Pearl Cleage; it moved my mother and I literally to tears. I can't express the gratitude, admiration, love and respect felt last night. Today and everyday I will speak those women’s names. But on more personal note, today and forever more I shall speak my mother's name: Trina (Woods) Gatson, my father's name: John Gatson, Sr. (deceased), my grandmother's names: Isabel Barber (deceased) and Pearl Griffin, my grandfather's name: Sylvester Barber, my great-grandmother's name: Mary Griffin, my childhood next door 2nd grandmother/neighbor: Mrs. White (deceased), my Uncles: Tino, Fella, Ray, Deeky and Reggie, my Aunts: Lady, Peaches, Pookie and so many others...I owe so many...I owe so many. In the mighty words of Dr. Maya Angelou: We say 'Thank You', there's nothing more powerful than saying, 'Thank You'; we say 'Thank You' to God. So to all who touched my life in various ways of growth...I say 'Thank You'.

I Am Sooo Freakin' Pissted!

Monday, May 15, 2006 on Grey's anatomy, Denny (my love) was killed off! My goodness, why?!? I don't understand it? He was sooo charming! I feel in love with him--and when he proposed, my heart melted!

Izzie was pleading w/Denny to let her save his life. To do so, she'd have to stop his already felling heart in order to worsen his vitals resulting in his being pushed up on the donor list.
(She broke me! I was crying so hard, my eyes hurt!)

Denny agrees to let Izzie save his life...they're passion--Oh, they're PASSION!
They're passion was on the level of General Hospital's:
Luke and Laura!

Izzie's trying to explain to Denny what she will be doing step-by-step.

unfortunately all of her efforts went for not, Denny died. This was thee most horrific decisions the writers could have ever made!

BRING HIM BACK!!!

Below is a one of 4-6 post I placed on Grey's anatomy blog, Grey Matter: From the Writer's of Grey's anatomy:

******** BOOHOOHOO ********

NO, DENNY DID NOOOTTTT HAVE TO DIE!!

I love Denny...it seemed Denny loved us...Shonda; you made us love this man, fall in love with this man…just to take him away!! Ur the creator, why do this?!? I just don't understand...was it that you guys couldn't figure out where to take the storyline...I as well as millions of others could've made suggestions--which could be your next add-on to the show—have people vote on an ending (which I wish u would have done that this time--my TV love, Denny would STILL be with us!) Oh well...

I hate that I still can't let this...this...this feeling of emptiness go...it is unreal—literally, yet it seems 'real' to me...on my way in to work this morning, I asked my mother, "Can you believe I still can't get over the Denny thing?"

Shonda, you took away a piece of ‘peace’ that millions of women had in Denny...sure we know he was fictional, but that's what women do...we fantasize. We read books about love (I don't--honestly, I don't), we watch movies, read magazines, rent movies...Denny was the guy in those books,, magazines and movies...he was so 'real' yet fictionJeffreyffery’s acting abilities are just amazing...and talk about FINE! He's a handsome man! I mean that white boy got it goin’ on! Even with a hair chest (I don't like hairy men--never have!) My theory on that is, if I have to shave, so should you, but I digress...

Anywho, GREAT SHOW, GREAT SEASON, GREAT WRITERS, GREAT ACTORS with an even GREATER CREATOR! Congratulations, see you next season!

Wisdom and The Wiz

Wisdom, Dorthy (Schianti Jaramillo), Tin Man (Dennis G. Mason) and Gatekeeper (Jerry Jarvis).

Saturday, April 29, 2006, I took my daughter to see HFFCC's production of The Wiz.

My daughter enjoyed herself as did I. However, it was a tad bit long and some of the songs were, well less than favoriable --I beleive because they strayed from the orginial songs and composed their own and/or borrowed for other shows. But all-in-all, we had fun. My favorite charachter was the Lion (Devonna Moore) Man, she was excellent in every possible way! I wish I had time to get her pic. I have to write a paper on the show that's due 2morrows...and I haven't started...

Ahhh, is it me, or is my daughter frighten of the strange sliver and blue man? Ha! Na, she asked me if she could meet the Tin Man.

Wisdom, You R Amazing! Post 1

These are some pics of my amazing 4yr old daughter, Wisdom doing what she does best--EVERYTHING!

Ok, ok, ok, so I'm basis. But seriously folks, these are pics of her doing various gymnastics (so I call it) and she's NEVER had any formal training! I want 2 put her into gymnastics, but I can't find a place/trainner nor can I afford it...what a waste.

Sorry, the pics are in different post, but I could only send two pics at a time from my phone and they were all posted TODAY, but to get them in order I had to change the date.
