Does the term apply to ALL couples of different backgrounds/cultures?

Is it an euphemism exclusively for black and white couples?

African-Americans are the only race that does NOT "blend", so when outsiders see black and white couples it's automatically labeled "Interracial". Were as, other nationalities are seen as a “Couple”...not an “Interracial Couple”.
